Preface

The Association of Caribbean Electoral Organizations (ACEO) was formally established as a Pan-Caribbean Association in 1998 to: “… promote co-operation and mutual assistance among electoral organizations in the Caribbean in the pursuit of democracy by processes that ensure free, fair and peaceful elections.”

At the Second General Assembly held in Kingston, Jamaica, among the project activities identified for 2002 was the establishment of an ACEO website; and, arising from the deliberations of the Fourth General Assembly held in Barbados in 2009, the Elections and Boundaries Commission of Trinidad and Tobago agreed to undertake responsibility for the website and for its maintenance. Thus, the website www.theaceo.com was created. It was launched at the Fifth General Assembly held in Trinidad and Tobago over the period 18th-19th November, 2010.
